While the smiles and triumphs of our kids are reward enough, Career Trek is always honoured when the community takes notice of the work we are happy to do. Here are some awards we’ve received:

The 2009 Award for Excellence for Entrepreneurship in Career Development for Youth from Manitoba Aerospace

These awards of excellence recognize “industry members and an educational partner involved in or with the aerospace industry who have demonstrated excellence in a variety of areas from leadership to business growth.”


The Michael Smith Award for Science Promotion from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (2006)

“The award honours people and groups that are inspirational in the way they promote science to the general public.”


The People Forward Award for Developing Tomorrow’s Workforce (2006)

The award recognizes an organization that “has created opportunities for individuals (youth or adults) to explore future career options, and develop the experiences, education and skills needed to succeed in society.”


The National Campus and Community Radio Association Community Development Award, in partnership with CKUW (The University of Winnipeg’s on-campus radio station)

The NCRA awards “honour the best and most innovative programming and activities our sector has to offer.” The community development category acknowledges how a station has helped people in their own backyard.


The 2001 Building for the Future Endowment Program Award from the Canadian Career Development Foundation and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (inaugural winners)

This award is intended to “support the development and delivery of creative and practical approaches to training and practice.”


Runner-up, The Peter F. Drucker Award for Canadian Nonprofit Innovation (2001)

This award recognizes “a program that has made a difference in the lives of the people it serves – producing results that exemplify Peter F. Drucker's definition of innovation: ‘Change that creates a new dimension of performance.’”
